“Absolutely yummy planting, a mixture of textures and colours. I love it, it is a delicious garden” Rachel de Thame BBC2 2014

'Untying the Knot': The Bounce Back Foundation Garden

The Bounce Back Foundation Garden tells an inspiring story. Celebrating ex-offender talent, it narrates Bounce Back’s mission to give ex-offenders a second chance by untying the knot of uncertainty they face when starting over.

Storytelling in garden form has been inspired by historical knot gardens. Through the use of plant colour, form and texture, the design recounts how Bounce Back’s decorating enterprise works with ex-offenders to build confidence and new, fulfilling lives, whilst also changing perception through collaboration and creativity.

Built with the help of Bounce Back trainees, Changing Paths Charitable Trust and Walworth Garden Farm, the garden build itself is an allegory of the colourful ways in which different organisations can work together to make a real difference in the lives of ex-offenders.

The Garden was awarded a Silver Medal.

The Garden was built by Cube1994.
