“Freddy’s ideas and vision has transformed our sunny London garden into a mini Hampton Court Flower Show winner. And, as the garden develops, he continues to suggest ways to take the planting and visual experience to another level. He is a wonderful gardener and designer” Hilary W.
Folding glass doors from the kitchen opened into a rectangular urban garden crowded with shrubs. Our client requested a more open-feeling and formal, low maintenance garden space with a “touch of Italy” combined with seasonal, perennial planting.
We cleared much of the garden, retaining and pruning to shape worthwhile shrubs before introducing a central, gravel area surrounded by wider borders.
Formality was introduced with four larger-than-life balls of Pittosporum tenuifolium “Tom Thumb” and three Cupressus sempervirens to punctuate the skyline and draw the surrounding specimen trees into the garden picture.
We have now been asked to devise a dramatic lighting scheme and makeover the client’s front garden.
